Case Study: Tilt Renewables
More than 8,290 hectares of New South Wales land are now under permanent protection. Wedgetail built the offset strategy behind two Tilt Renewables wind farms. Rye Park's final offset costs came in more than $10 million below a direct payment into the Biodiversity Conservation Fund.

Wedgetail Project Consulting is an ecology and biodiversity consultancy operating across New South Wales. We prepare the ecological assessments, approvals and stewardship site reports for developers, landholders and other businesses from four offices covering the whole state.

New South Wales only, from four offices: our main office in Bennetts Green, Newcastle, and regional teams covering the Central West, Southern Tablelands and South Coast. We don't take on work outside New South Wales.

Start with a preliminary assessment if you're not sure. It maps your site against the two triggers for the Biodiversity Offset Scheme and tells you what report, if any, comes next.

It depends on the condition of the native vegetation on your property, not just its size. Properties as small as 20 hectares can qualify, however around 100 hectares is generally the minimum threshold we recommend for a commercially viable return. Smaller sites can still be worthwhile if they contain a critically endangered ecological community, since those credits trade at a significant premium.
