Wedgetail Project Consulting is an ecology and biodiversity consultancy operating across New South Wales, with offices in Newcastle, Orange, Goulburn and Shellharbour. We prepare the ecological reports, approvals and stewardship assessments developers, landholders and government need, led by our team of accredited specialists.
What makes Wedgetail different?

A different size to the rest of the market
Ecology consultancies in New South Wales tend to fall into two groups. Large national firms run ecology as one service line among many, alongside planning, engineering and half a dozen other disciplines. Small regional practices are hands-on but limited in what they can offer. Case Study: Tilt Renewables
Tilt Renewables needed to meet biodiversity offset obligations on two New South Wales wind farms. Wedgetail built a strategy around new biodiversity stewardship sites resulting in more than 8,290 hectares permanently protected, and a saving of more than $10 million compared to a direct payment into the Biodiversity Conservation Fund.

Yes. A Biodiversity Development Assessment Report (BDAR) or Biodiversity Stewardship Site Assessment Report (BSSAR) must be completed by an assessor accredited under the Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM). Several of our senior ecologists hold this accreditation.
